Abstract

This review article attempts to highlight the importance of Fehrist hai nuskha-e khatti Pakistan (4 volumes) covering 335 collections of Persian manuscripts in Pakistan. The hefty volumes of this catalogue provide details for over 8000 manuscripts archived in various libraries, personal collections and museums. This extraordinary task is done by Dr Arif Naushahi who is reckoned to be known as the only bibliographer and cataloguer about the Persian works produced in the sub-continent. The forth volume of the work indexes the manuscripts covered in the remaining three volumes. The manuscripts indexed in the volumes have a wide range of subjects. The prominent feature of the catalogues is that the cataloguer does not leave any stone unturned to explain the allied information of a manuscript.
