Abstract

This article presents the historic and overwhelming contributions of Mir Usman Ali Khan which enabled the Kingdom of Hyderabad to compete its rivals. He not only extended his support for the Muslims but also for non-Muslims through his royal orders for publishing their religious texts, building their places of worship places, and for their festivities to be funded. He also funded many foreign scholarly projects and foreign scholars. Mir Usman extended his financial support for Maulana Syed Suleman Nadvi to write Seerat-un-Nabi. This support continued for 14 years intermittently. His support for the non-Muslims led the people to coexist peacefully. State Central Library Hyderabad, Usmania university and its translation section did very meaningful contributions in the field of education and scholarship.
