مکاتیبِ مشاہیر تحقیق بہ نام محمد حمزہ فاروقی
The unpublished letters of known researchers Mukhtaruddin Ahmed Arzoo and Muhammed Ikram Chaghatai addressed to Muhammad Hamza Farooqui. These letters have many things to shed light on the literary interests of the senders and the recipient of the letters. Apart from these, some social aspects go paralleled with them such as expenses of surface mail, sea mail and air mail. The letters of both sides have little hope to recover those letters lost. No office would facilitate in this regard. The expenses of publishing have always been more economical in India than in Pakistan. Mr Arzoo has expressed his concerns over the careless attitude of a university for whom he assessed Phd dissertations as a foreign referee as it neither sent money for the assessment nor bothered to reply to a letter or phone call from the assessor. A Lahore-based Mr Chaghatai travelled Europe for the first time in the early eighties. His nine letters have something to say about his brief stay in Karachi for imparting his journey to Europe or vice versa. He used to stay in Karachi at the residence of noted satirist Mushfiq Khwaja. These letters of Mr Chaghatai are not only a clear reflection of his interest in the scenic beauty of Europe but also, he provoked the recipient to visit these beautiful places of Europe which MrFarooqui travelled later.
