Abstract

This article aims at unfolding the remarkable contributions of Abdul Sattar Kheri and Abdul Jabbar Kheri (Kheri brothers) while being in Cairo, Egypt after leaving their homeland in the early twentieth century. They could have gone to either Cambridge or Oxford but they preferred to choose a country for their missions where they could work free from the clutches of colonial powers. In Al-Azhar University, Mufti Muhammad Abduh was among many teachers who taught him. They left Egypt for Beirut and got admission to Syrian Protestant College (afterward American College) and they remained there for three years. He wrote a research paper there on Women's Rights in Islam in comparison with the period of Jahiliya. They took part in various protests there. They succeeded in establishing an educational entity ‘Darul Funoon’ under the patronage of revolutionary Egyptian leader Abdul Aziz Shavesh, Ottoman Power and a committee of Aligarh ‘Akhuwatul Islam’ in which they initiated scouting activities among students as well.
