Abstract

This article aims to provide a comprehensive picture about Muslim and Hindus taking part in the economic activity particular insurance business. Muslim businessmen were few to Hindus. sahokars played important role in the economic activity and shared major profit sharing. Their shares were so high that the agriculturists of the entire Punjab region were unable to match. In these circumstances Muslim businessmen were unable to contribute substantially. In the twenties of the previous century Maulana Zafar AliKhanlaunched a project known as Muslim Bazaar (Muslim Market).The articles give detailed account of about these major banks of the time saving Muslims communities from the exploitation: Diamond Jubilee bank, Orient bank, Muslim Bank limited, Lahore, Crescent Bank of India, The Central Exchange Bank limited and The Australasia Bank limited, Lahore.
