Abstract
The unpublished letters of Maulana Abul A’la Maududi, the founder of Jamaat-e Islami, are a treasure trove of information about his views on different matters. This article presents his four unpublished letters sent to a renowned orator, hakeem and editor Qari Ahmed Peeli Bheeti. In one of the letters, Maulana Maududi made clarification about the word Khuda and guided the sender that it did no harm in using the word in the sense of Allah as it is used in Urdu language in the same meaning. The views expressed in this regard by Maulana Maududi shows his linguistic approach as well. Qari Ahmed, under the able guidance of Maulana Abdul Hamid Badayuni, started to edit monthly Al-Islam. His grandfather Maulana Wasi Ahmed Muhaddis Surti was reckoned to be one of the prominent religious figures of the undivided India. Renowned Qaid-e Azam scholar Khawaja Razi Haider is a son of Qari Ahmed Peeli Bheeti who is also known for his poetry and literary pursuits.Read More →
