Abstract
Founded in 1847, Thompson Roorkee College, formerly known as Civil Engineering College, produced 26 Urdu books of civil engineering till 1870. The books contained a rare Urdu prose which is suited to present technical subjects like engineering in it comfortably. Before it, Urdu language had no such type of prose ever produced. This article aims at presenting details about those books. It also highlights many of incorrect accounts of research dealing with the subject in Urdu.
